The “chat history” memory feature differs from the old “saved memories” feature because users cannot view or change the information it stores. This feature serves as a full-spectrum memory repository that can toggle between active and inactive states to deliver complete context for AI responses.

The enhanced memory functionality deployment begins today for subscribers with ChatGPT Plus and Pro accounts. OpenAI stated that the feature deployment will proceed over several weeks, so subscribers won’t receive immediate access. Users from the United Kingdom and the European Union, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, will not be included in this initial launch phase.
